In 2003, our lives changed forever when we met at a local veterinary clinic. Chris was working. Jess was supporting a friend who had a horse that needed hoof surgery. Kathy noticed an immediate spark and started playing matchmaker! We spent a lot of time on the phone before our first date. We learned we both had a love of the outdoors, raising dogs, riding horses, and travel.

Jess is an Occupational Therapist working with children and adults. Her pediatric patients may have been born with special needs, prematurely, or may need help reaching their developmental milestones. Her adult patients work hard on rehab in order to return to their homes. When she isn't working, Jess loves to volunteer, travel, garden, ride horses, take long nature walks, and spend time with her friends and family.

Chris is a self-employed farrier (horse-shoer). He has been running his business for almost 10 years and he loves what he does! Chris's clients may be found in the show ring, on the trails, and traveling the international circuit. When he's not keeping other's in the saddle, Chris enjoys volunteering with the church, woodworking/home improvement projects, gardening, travel, and spending time with family and friends.

When we married in 2005, we had dreams of raising children together. We learned that we were unable to do this in the 'traditional way'. We have worked hard to build our lives and loves together and now we very much want to add children to the mix.
